Relationships are very important part of life and its role can never be overrated. Who you share your life with – Your Tribe, the people you grow and glow with, the ones whose lives reflect on yours. . .
Your relationship will either make or mar you (or so the saying goes). Traditionally, friendships are built based on proximity and researches further buttress the point that we tend to have a greater fondness for those whom we spend more time with. But overtime, I’ve noticed that people often times, spend a great deal of time with people who no longer support their growth out of obligations that they’ve been friends for long. The thing is, when you’re living purposefully and understand the intensity of your dreams and aspirations, you will see why you need to evaluate your relationships and ensure they are mutually supportive. You don’t just walk on in life, following your dreams and allow yourself get dragged down by negative vibes from the people in your life either because they can’t conceive the dream or just too comfortable being a mediocre or just not interested nor happy for your growth.
It’s good to want to carry people along on the path to success, in fact, it’s great, because you’re not only helping them but also clearing ways for yourself and improving your tribe, but, there is a thin line between an healthy relationship and the ones that will choke you or drain you and the funniest thing is we all know when we see one, yet, put up with such out of obligation and undeserving loyalty.
The goal is not to kick old friends out of your life (except unavoidable), but to organise your priorities and open doors to like minds (people who believe in your dreams and ready to grow with you).
